Mission

Our mission is to provide the highest quality education by bringing together Indigenous and other ways of knowing in dialogue for the purpose of fostering original thought that is increasingly inclusive, interconnected, and whole.

We pursue our mission by providing a synergistic, interconnected and student-centered curriculum that enables the learner and faculty to approach knowledge as one integrated whole. Indigenous ways of knowing and dialogue are central to achieving our goals. In establishing an original model of education informed by Indigenous ways of knowing and dialogue, our intent is to make a program that is open and flexible, yet strong and rooted in nature’s wisdom.

We seek to be original by being inclusive, comprehensive and timely. We choose to be radical in the original sense of aiming to uncover the deepest roots of interconnected knowing. We encourage students to become “comprehensivists,” understanding that any one field can be informed by all other fields. We intend to prosper for the long run, by participating in nature’s cycles of growth, change and renewal.
