"Of all psychology's sins, the most mortal is its neglect of beauty." - James Hillman

Art emerges from the creative imagination of the universe – the life force central to all of existence. Art connects us to culture and to nature through the physical senses and gives meaning to our lives. Art connects us to the deep mysteries of life. Art connects us to soul.

Art and Soul is a unique conference that accesses the intersection of art, archetypal psychology, mythology and cross-cultural wisdom traditions. It is a conference dedicated to exploring the depth of human feeling through the image, and provides a forum for discussion and experience of beauty, joy, love, pathos, and more.

Archetypal psychology is based on the principle of epistrophe – that all phenomenon of life have an archetypal likeness that emerges from an image. All of life can be traced back to the image, preserving the stories of the soul.

James Hillman

Schedule of Events

Winter in the High Desert of Santa Fe
Santa Fe is special in the winter. There is sometimes snow, but mostly in the mountains. Blue sky, sunny days, highs in the 60s, and evening lows in the 20s are typical, though sometimes the days are gray. There are fewer tourists than in summer, and all the attractions are open: museums, galleries, cafes, night spots, and the remarkable architecture of a city built close to the natural environment at 7000 feet elevation. There is skiing in the Santa Fe Ski Slopes near the Bishops Lodge, and golf is a year round sport.
